What we collect

Scripture Before Scroll stores your name, email address, and a hashed (non-reversible) version of your password. We never see your actual password. All other data — your streak, memorized verses, and reading habits — is stored only on your device in your browser's local storage. We do not have access to it.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not share your information with third parties for advertising. We do not track your behavior across other websites or apps. Your prayer journal entries never leave your device.

Screen Time & app usage

Scripture Before Scroll does not collect, store, or transmit Screen Time usage data or app usage statistics of any kind. If you choose to enable the Habit Gate feature (which uses Apple's Screen Time framework on iOS or Android's accessibility service), the apps you select to monitor are stored on your device only as anonymous system tokens — we never see or transmit the names of apps you use or how often you use them. This data never leaves your device.

Third-party services

We use EmailJS to send password reset emails. Your email address is transmitted to EmailJS solely for this purpose and is not stored or used for marketing by them. We use HubSpot to maintain our mailing list — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics (e.g., how many people complete a habit). PostHog data is not linked to your identity.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete My Account. This permanently removes everything from your device. For any questions or data requests, contact us at scripturebeforescroll@gmail.com.

Children's privacy

Scripture Before Scroll is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
